Press Start Academy's flagship debate program cultivates public speaking, story comprehension, and problem-solving skills while they act as detectives, lawyers, and jury in a magical trial.

The mysteries and clues of the case will be solved by utilizing summarizing skills and collaborative decision-making. Student will share their facts with others through debate, applying argumentative structure, and presentations. Evidence and testimonies will strengthen their arguments as they skillfully deduce the truth.

Communication, critical thinking, and public speaking will be your greatest skills in your pursuit of justice!

Learning Outcomes

  • Debate & Public Speaking

    Vocabulary words relating to debate, public speaking, and the criminal justice system are found in the challenges, reading, and writing sections.

  • Story Comprehension

    The plot of the story has several mysteries and routes it may take. Through interacting with characters and completing challenges, they discover all that the story has to offer.

  • Summarizing

    Learners develop their summarization skills through their writing assignments and experiencing the story. They take notes on the major events as well as the hints and secrets they find along the way.

  • Problem-Solving

    Through collaborative discussions and solo creative prompts, each learner's unique ideas and solutions are crucial to solving puzzles and problems in this magical world.
