The Lich Of Lymonix (Ages 11-14)

The Lich of Lymonix is an educational adventure program inspired by Dungeons and Dragons where students learn descriptive writing, and collaborative decision-making as they venture into the fantastical world of Luden. They will develop their summarizing, communication, and story comprehension skills as they battle mythical monsters across the land.

Each student becomes a wizard with words, as they embody their fictional personas and shape the story, characters, and world around them. Through challenges based on wits, they will demonstrate their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to emerge victorious!

Learning Outcomes

  • Communication

Using RPG (Role-Play Game) mechanics, participants take on the role of embodying their characters and engaging in the world through this new perspective. They articulate their characters' actions and how they traverse the world to help the instructor tell the story.

  • Story Comprehension

The plot of the story has several mysteries and routes it may take. Through interacting with characters and completing challenges, they discover all that the story has to offer.

  • Summarizing

Diary-like entries from the character's point of view are recorded after each session. During this time, learners explore the inner thoughts and motives of the characters they are controlling.

  • Collaboration

Challenges in this course cannot be completed alone. Learners will work as a team to discuss, strategize, and play through obstacles.
