The “SDG#12 GAMIthon” is a 2-day student competition hosted at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (UST), using the framework of a hackathon to nurture participants to co-create fun and educational solutions through applying gamification in a sustainability context and bring the solutions into the Hong Kong community and beyond.

It is one of the events of the 3-year Jockey Club Sustainable Campus Consumer Programme, aiming to promote responsible consumption and production.

For 2022, Press Start Academy was invited to host learning and design sessions for the students, teaching them how to ideate and prototype their own games. The end of the gamithon saw a prize ceremony where the students’ games were awarded on the basis of the theme and four main pillars.

Theme:

To develop a gaming solution and invite the world to adopt responsible consumption and production lifestyles.
