Subscribe Now!I worked at Press Start Academy as a Learning Strategy Associate this summer of 2023, and the short time I got to spend there presented me with so much to learn and absorb. I got to explore a different side of education, which formal institutions do not cater to in such depth - gamification and student agency.
To all of our beloved readers - we’ve got some exciting news to share with you! After working tirelessly over the past year to ramp up our programs for both students and teachers, we wanted a fresh space to showcase all the cool things we're up to. And with that, we’re thrilled to announce that our brand new website is finally here!
In innovation and strategy, we often talk about experience design. In technology and marketing, we often talk about interaction design. In learning and development, we often talk about instructional design.
We take inspiration from concepts like learning through play, gamification, inquiry-based learning and design thinking to foster a lifelong love of learning, develop real-world and academic skills, and cultivate mastery. Our curriculum is aligned with international academic standards, and our skills focus is founded on the 6Cs of 21st-century skills: Creativity, Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Citizenship, and Character.
21st century skills encompass a range of competencies necessary for success in the modern world.
Seeking out new ideas and experiences, and seeing familiar things in new ways.
Articulating ideas clearly, effectively and meaningfully.
Evaluating information objectively, identifying biases, and forming well-reasoned judgments.
Working with, learning from, and sharing with others towards a shared outcome.
Understanding society and the world, and our place within it.
How one engages with and behaves in the world.
